Zaza Festival Began in Bingöl

The first day of the two-day Zaza Festival, organized by the Zaza Language and Culture Revitalization Associations Federation in Bingöl, began with enthusiastic events and concerts.

The opening of the Zaza Festival, planned to last for two days, took place in the area next to the Bingöl Municipality.

While various activities were organized for participants in the festival area, special play areas were also set up for children.

Artists Took the Stage

Latif Doğan, Aynur Polat, Kadir İpek, and Erkam Aydar gave concerts on the first day of the organization.

Participants experienced pleasant moments on the first day of the festival with the works performed by the artists.

Governor Cahit Çelik's Speech

In his speech at the festival, Governor Cahit Çelik touched upon the importance of passing on the Zaza language to children and youth.

He emphasized that everyone must fulfill their responsibility to keep this language, which carries the memory of society, alive.

Encouragement for Keeping the Language Alive

Stating that Zaza should be kept alive in daily life as well as in education and art, Çelik urged that young people be encouraged to speak this language.

He expressed that elective course applications and the development of educational materials are valuable for the future of the language.

Emphasis on Cultural Richness

He reminded that Turkey is a rich civilization geography where different cultures live together.

He noted that Turkish continues to be the common and official language, and that the Zaza language is an important part of this richness.

Tomorrow's Events and Closing

On the second day of the festival, Maral, Servet Kocakaya, Cumali Alp, Ekin Akkaş, Avni Polat, and Mustafa Topaloğlu will take the stage.
