108 Tons of Waste Recycled in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) Complex in 2025

According to the 2025 recovery data from the Speaker's Office of the Parliament, a total of 108 tons of waste collected in the TBMM complex was recycled, achieving significant energy, water, and raw material savings.

Amounts of Recycled Waste

As part of the efforts carried out in the parliament complex last year, 91.4 tons of paper-cardboard, 7.5 tons of plastic, 3.2 tons of metal, 2.2 tons of glass, and 3.9 tons of organic waste were successfully recycled.

Energy and Water Savings Achieved

Thanks to the reprocessing and transformation processes of the collected waste, a total of 419,903 kilowatt-hours of energy savings were achieved, along with 2,558 cubic meters of water savings.

Environmental Protection and Reduction of Greenhouse Gases

By recycling the waste, 16,843 kilograms of greenhouse gas emissions were prevented, making a significant contribution to environmental protection.

Oil and Raw Material Recovery

The recovery provided by the recycled waste was found to be equivalent to saving 19,503 liters of barrel oil, and a total of 2.58 tons and 4.10 tons of raw materials were recovered as a result of the process.

Felling of Thousands of Trees Prevented

Thanks solely to the recycling of paper and cardboard waste, the cutting down of 1,553 trees was prevented, ensuring the protection of natural resources.
