15 Persons Detained in Investigation Regarding Capital Market Transactions

Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek announced that legal proceedings have been initiated against 25 suspects and 15 persons have been detained as part of the investigation conducted into transactions carried out in capital markets regarding the shares of Katılımevim Tasarruf Finansman AŞ.

Scope of the Investigation and Detentions

It was reported that legal proceedings were initiated this morning against 25 suspects and 15 suspects were detained within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

In statements made by the authorities, it was stated that efforts to capture the 10 fugitive suspects are continuing without interruption.

Asset Movements Frozen

Within the framework of the financial dimension of the investigation, the money and asset movements of managers and officials connected to the relevant holding and portfolio management companies were frozen.

Writs were written to all relevant official institutions and associations in order to prevent assets from being smuggled, transferred to third parties, or diminished.

Measures Reported to Relevant Institutions

Official letters were sent to critical institutions such as the Banks Association of Turkey, MASAK (Financial Crimes Investigation Board), and the General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre to ensure that necessary administrative measures are taken.

Transactions of the members of the board of directors of the companies and their first-degree blood relatives that would reduce their assets were brought under the control and knowledge of the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

List of Detained Suspects

Among the 15 suspects detained within the scope of the operation are employees and managers holding various titles.

The names of the suspects include Berkan Gülen, Celal Yarız, Furkan Baki, Halil İbrahim Ege, and İlhan Aygün.
