Supply concerns in global markets and volatility in crude oil prices continue to impact fuel prices. In this context, a price increase of 8.24 TL per liter of diesel is expected overnight.
The Impact of Global Developments on Fuel
The re-escalation of tension between the US and Iran, along with Ukraine's attacks on oil refineries in Russia, have heightened supply concerns in global markets.
While these geopolitical developments are directly reflected in crude oil prices, they also necessitate upward adjustments in domestic fuel prices.
Amount of Increase and Reflection on Tank Cost
According to information obtained from industry sources, an increase of 8.24 TL, which corresponds to approximately 10 percent, is anticipated in the price per liter of diesel.
If this increase takes place, the cost of filling the fuel tank of a standard 50-liter vehicle will rise by 412 TL overnight.
Implementation Date and Expected New Prices
The price increase in question is expected to be reflected at the pump prices starting from the night connecting Thursday, September 3, to Friday, September 4.
Following the expected hike, the price per liter of diesel is estimated to reach 89.38 TL on the European side of Istanbul, 89.28 TL on the Asian side of Istanbul, 90.73 TL in Ankara, and 90.71 TL in Izmir.
