A section of the Halkalı-Kapıkule High-Speed Train Line is opening
The Çerkezköy-Kapıkule section of the Halkalı-Kapıkule line, which will connect the provinces of Tekirdağ, Kırklareli, and Edirne to the high-speed train network, is entering service.
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that the 153-kilometer Çerkezköy-Kapıkule section of the Halkalı-Kapıkule High-Speed Train Line will be put into service.

Transportation Comfort for the Thrace Region
With the line entering service, the provinces of Tekirdağ, Kırklareli, and Edirne will be integrated into the high-speed train network, and the number of directly connected provinces will increase from 11 to 14.
Technical Features and Capacity
Built as a double-track, electrified system with Level-1 signaling, the project was designed for an operational speed of 200 kilometers per hour, and rail laying has been completed.
Significant Reduction in Travel Times
With the completion of the project, passenger travel time will decrease from 4 hours to 1.5 hours, and freight transport time will decrease from 8.5 hours to 3.5 hours.
