Agricultural Products Producer Price Index Decreased in August
According to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute, Agricultural-PPI decreased by 0.93 percent on a monthly basis in August, while registering a 21.91 percent increase year-on-year.
According to data published by the Turkish Statistical Institute, the agricultural products producer price index recorded a monthly decline in August. Based on the announced figures, Agricultural-PPI fell by 0.93 percent monthly while increasing by 21.91 percent annually.
Monthly and Annual General Change
According to data announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute, the agricultural products producer price index recorded a 0.93 percent decrease on a monthly basis in August. In the same period, the index showed an increase of 21.91 percent on an annual basis.
Year-to-Date and Average Increases
In Agricultural-PPI, there was an increase of 9.20 percent in August compared to December of the previous year. Meanwhile, the rate of increase based on twelve-month averages was recorded at 33.47 percent.
Sectoral Declines
When sectors are examined, a 0.86 percent decrease was observed in agriculture and hunting products and related services compared to the previous month. Forestry products and related services saw a decrease of 1.74 percent, while the fishing and aquaculture sector experienced a 1.77 percent decline.
Changes in Main Groups
On a main group basis, a 6.23 percent decrease was recorded in non-perennial crops compared to the previous month. Conversely, increases of 3.22 percent in perennial crops and 2.00 percent in live animals and animal products were observed.
Annual Highest and Lowest Groups
The sub-group with the highest annual change was vegetables, melons, roots, and tubers with a 69.99 percent increase. Pome and stone fruits led the sub-groups where the annual change turned negative, with a 27.69 percent decline.
Monthly Highest and Lowest Groups
The sub-group with the highest monthly change was determined as tropical and subtropical fruits with a 153.75 percent increase. Grapes led the sub-groups with a negative monthly change, showing a 25.83 percent decrease.
