The company announced that, in addition to Turkey and the two other countries, it will also expand its existing data center network in Malaysia, Germany, the United Arab Emirates, France, and Hong Kong. These investments aim to increase the capability of providing localized cloud and artificial intelligence services.

Global Competitive Environment

According to information reported by Bloomberg, this growth move by Alibaba means it will increasingly enter into direct competition with its Western rivals such as Amazon and Alphabet in regions outside Asia.

Li Feifei, Chief Technology Officer of Alibaba Cloud Intelligence and President of International Business, stated that they are determined to work in close cooperation with the global ecosystem to make artificial intelligence more scalable, practical, and accessible for businesses.
