All-Time Highest Export Record Broken in September

According to the September foreign trade data announced with the participation of Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat and Turkish Exporters Assembly President Mustafa Gültepe, goods exports increased by 15.4 percent on an annual basis to reach $26 billion.

Record Level Reached in September

Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat stated that the highest September export record was broken, announcing that $26 billion in exports was realized with a 15.4 percent increase on an annual basis.

September foreign trade data was shared with the public at a meeting held at the TIM Foreign Trade Complex with the participation of Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat and Turkish Exporters Assembly President Mustafa Gültepe.

MTP Targets Exceeded Before Year End

While exports for the January-September period increased by 5.2 percent to $211 billion, total annualized goods exports in September reached $283.7 billion.

With this development, the 2026 Medium-Term Program targets were exceeded with 3 months still remaining in the year, and a record was broken in annual goods exports.

Service Exports and Current Account Expectations

As of September, the annualized services exports for the last 12 months reached $125.4 billion, recording the highest figure to date.

While the total of goods and services exports rose to $409.1 billion in the past year, in line with these developments, the current account balance is expected to post a surplus in August and September.

Technology Products and Import Figures

Medium and high-tech product exports reached an all-time high of $117.6 billion, and their share in total exports rose to 43.7 percent.

In September, imports were realized at approximately $31.2 billion with an increase of about 6 percent, while the export-to-import coverage ratio reached 83.2 percent.
