Start of the Summit and Participants
The 2026 Antalya Economy meeting, organized by the Yörük Industrialists and Businesspeople Association, brought stakeholders together to discuss the city's production capacity and future targets.
The program, held at Hotel SU, was moderated by M. Aykut Ege, President of the YÖRSİAD High Advisory Board.
Agriculture and Institutional Cooperation
Ali Çandır, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Antalya Commodity Exchange, stated that the city has achieved significant success in tourism and greenhouse agriculture, but that new areas of success are needed in the new period.
Çandır emphasized that stronger communication must be established between institutions to leverage advantages such as ports, airports, and human capital.
Exports and Cost Factors
Foreign trade data of the region were discussed in detail during sessions attended by Mehmet Ali Can, President of the Western Mediterranean Exporters Association, and Zeki Gürses, General Manager of ASBAŞ.
Zeki Gürses stated that despite an increase in exports on a value basis, a loss was experienced on a quantity basis, and that the main problem stems from input and labor costs.
