Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum announced that the first 1,071 social rental housing units built in Istanbul will be delivered to their beneficiaries in October.

Housing Units to Be Delivered in October

Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum announced that with the presence of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the first 1,071 social rental housing units will be delivered to citizens in October.

Implemented in Twelve Districts

Within the scope of the project, social rental housing units are being built in Istanbul's districts of Ataşehir, Sancaktepe, Ümraniye, Üsküdar, Maltepe, Tuzla, Kartal, Başakşehir, Gaziosmanpaşa, Beyoğlu, Arnavutköy, and Güngören.

Rental Period and Lottery System

It was stated that the housing units will be rented for 3 years, and at the end of the 3-year period, new beneficiaries will be determined again through a lottery method.

What Are the Application Requirements?

Applicants are required to be over 18 years of age, married, a citizen of the Republic of Turkey, have a monthly household income of less than 100 thousand liras, and have resided in Istanbul for at least 1 year. In addition, applicants must not own any registered residential property in the land registry.

Rental Prices and Application Date

Offered in four different sizes and well below market rates, 1+1 apartments will start from 10 thousand liras, 2+1 apartments from 12 thousand liras, 3+1 apartments from 15 thousand liras, and 4+1 apartments from 18 thousand liras. Applications will start being accepted on September 14.
