ASFAT Achieves Over $550 Million in Exports This Year
ASFAT has undertaken the maintenance of A400M transport aircraft in Turkey while delivering the first two ships in a 4-corvette project carried out with Pakistan. The company aims to increase its export potential through the modernization of military factories and international defense projects.
Musa Heybet, Deputy Minister of National Defense and Chairman of the Board of ASFAT, announced that the institution reached an export figure exceeding $550 million this year and provides services to more than 20 countries.
Maintenance of A400M Aircraft Carried Out in Turkey
Despite Airbus's strict procedures, an agreement was reached with ASFAT regarding the maintenance of A400M transport aircraft. Maintenance requests coming from both European Union countries and Turkic Republics are now being met in Turkey.
Following applications submitted through the channels of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of National Defense, negotiations are ongoing with some countries to establish maintenance and repair lines and form joint ventures.
Pakistan Project and Global Service Exports
Stating that ASFAT has exported services to more than 20 countries, Musa Heybet noted that work is continuing to raise this year's export figure, which has exceeded $550 million.
Within the scope of the 4-corvette agreement signed with Pakistan, two ships built at the shipyard in Istanbul were delivered and reached the country. The construction of two ships continues in Karachi. The company is also continuing negotiations with various countries for the construction of warships equipped with Turkish defense systems.
Modernization Efforts in Military Factories
Deputy Minister of National Defense Heybet stated that priority has been given to the modernization of military factories to support the progress Turkey has achieved in the defense industry. The aim is to elevate product development processes to the technological level required by the era.
