August 2026 Inflation Figures Announced
According to CPI data, inflation in August 2026 increased by 1.84% on a monthly basis and 31.51% on an annual basis.
According to the consumer price index data for August 2026 announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute, the CPI rose by 1.84% compared to the previous month and by 31.51% annually.
General Inflation Rates for August
The change in the CPI in August 2026 occurred as an increase of 1.84% compared to the previous month.
An increase of 22.07% was recorded compared to December of the previous year, and 31.79% according to twelve-month averages.
Annual Changes in Main Expenditure Groups
An annual increase of 33.79% was observed in food and non-alcoholic beverages, one of the main expenditure groups with the highest weight.
While the annual increase in the transportation group was 35.08%, this rate was realized as 39.77% in housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels.
Monthly Changes in Main Expenditure Groups
The monthly increase in the food and non-alcoholic beverages group stood at 0.22%.
The monthly increase in the transportation group was 4.82%, and in housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels, it was 2.26%.
Developments in Special Indicator Inflation
CPI changes excluding unprocessed food products, energy, alcoholic beverages, tobacco, and gold were examined.
This index, expressed as the B indicator, increased by 1.84% compared to the previous month and by 30.68% annually in August.
