August Inflation Data and Pensioner and Civil Servant Salary Increases
TUIK announced August inflation as 1.84 percent monthly and 31.51 percent annually. SGK and Bağ-Kur retirees have already earned a 3.65 percent hike right.
In line with the August inflation figures announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute, the two-month raise rate for SGK and Bağ-Kur retirees has become clear, while the process continues for civil servants and civil servant retirees.
August Inflation Rates
According to the data announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute, the consumer price index increased by 1.84 percent on a monthly basis in August. The annual inflation rate was recorded as 31.51 percent.
Increase in Retiree Salaries
With the latest data announced, SGK and Bağ-Kur retirees have already earned a total raise rate of 3.65 percent for the two-month period covering July and August. This rate, which will be reflected in January 2027 salaries, will increase cumulatively with data from the remaining months of the year.
Situation of Civil Servants and Civil Servant Retirees
Civil servants and civil servant retirees receive an inflation difference in addition to the collective bargaining raise in January. Currently, no inflation difference has yet arisen for civil servants and civil servant retirees.
Future Period Expectations
For civil servants and civil servant retirees to be entitled to an inflation difference, an additional inflation of 3.23 percent must occur in the coming months. Data from the remaining months will determine this situation.
