Automotive Industry Maintained Export Leadership in August
According to the Turkish Exporters Assembly data, the automotive sector achieved the highest exports in August, while the highest increase was seen in the jewelry sector.
According to data from the Turkish Exporters Assembly, the automotive industry maintained its top position in Turkey's exports by realizing $2 billion 791 million in foreign sales in August.
Automotive Maintained Its Top Position
According to the data of the Turkish Exporters Assembly, the automotive industry, one of the industrial group sectors, maintained its first place by making an export of 2 billion 791 million dollars in August.
Other Top Exporting Sectors
Among the sectors with the highest exports, chemicals and products ranked second with 2 billion 697 million dollars, and the electrical and electronics sector ranked third with 1 billion 725 million dollars.
Sectoral Export Increase Rates
The sector that achieved the highest percentage increase in exports in August was jewelry with 174.7 percent. The foreign sales of the industrial group were calculated as 16.7 billion dollars with an increase of 9.1 percent.
Agriculture and Mining Sector Data
In the agriculture group, which realized 12 percent of exports last month, foreign sales of 2.8 billion dollars were made with an increase of 4.3 percent. In the mining group, foreign sales of 650.4 million dollars were realized with an increase of 24.4 percent.
Top Export Destinations and Cities
Last month, the top three countries with the highest exports were Germany with approximately 1.6 billion dollars, the USA with 1.4 billion dollars, and the United Kingdom with 1.1 billion dollars. The top 3 exporting cities were Istanbul, Kocaeli, and Ankara.
Contribution of New Exporter Companies
Turkish Exporters Assembly President Mustafa Gültepe stated that 874 companies made exports for the first time last month and the contribution of these companies to exports was close to 83 million dollars.
