The Bank of England has identified four wild animals to be featured on the country's new banknote series, following a public consultation process involving approximately 500,000 people.

According to the statement made by the Bank of England, the decision was reached following a comprehensive consultation process involving about 500,000 people. Participants made their selections from a list of 18 animals determined by an expert panel.
Four Animals to Feature on Banknotes
As a result of the evaluations, the barn owl, the yellow-tailed bumblebee, the European hedgehog, and the Atlantic puffin were chosen to be featured in the new banknote series. These animals were the most preferred in their respective categories.
Denominations and Circulation Schedule
Which animal will appear on which denomination will be announced at a later date. The new series is planned to enter circulation within the next few years, and the designs will continue to feature the royal portrait.
