Winners and Losers on a Sectoral Basis
At the end of the day, the banking index gained 2.43 percent, while the holding index declined by 0.26 percent. Among sector indices, the highest gainer was chemistry, petroleum, and plastic with 3.25 percent, while the biggest loser was IT with 3.90 percent.
Global Risks and Domestic Decoupling
New attacks in the Middle East increasing concerns regarding energy supply negatively affected risk appetite in global markets. Meanwhile, domestic markets managed to decouple positively from global markets during this process.
Standout Data and Expectations in Markets
Analysts stated that the interest rate decision of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey domestically, and the interest rate decision of the European Central Bank alongside the Producer Price Index to be announced in the US internationally, will be monitored.
Technical Levels and Interest Rate Expectations
From a technical perspective, 14,600 and 14,700 points are in the position of resistance, and 14,400 and 14,300 points are support for the BIST 100 index. Economists stated that CBRT policy and year-end median expectations are being followed.
