Bonito Size Increased in the Black Sea
While the abundance of bonito continues uninterrupted in the Black Sea region, the sizes of the fish in Trabzon's market stalls have also grown significantly. The weight of bonito, which was caught at between 300 and 500 grams at the beginning of the season, has now reached up to 1 kilo.

Ahmet Çoğalmış, a fishmonger, stated that the season started quite well in terms of bonito and the fish is still being caught in abundance. Stating that the upward trend in bonito has continued since the beginning of the season, Çoğalmış noted that the bonito in the stalls have now reached kilo weights.
Prices and Size Increase
Noting that the increase in the weight of the bonito is also reflected on the price tags, Ahmet Çoğalmış conveyed that there was a small increase of between 20 and 50 lira in prices. Stating that small-sized bonito are no longer coming out, Çoğalmış expressed that prices vary between 100 and 150 lira.
High Interest from Citizens
Emin Avcı, another fishmonger, stated that the intense interest of citizens in bonito continues. Expressing that with bonito starting to get oilier, salting could be done in the coming days, Avcı emphasized that sales increase especially on weekends.
