Borsa Istanbul BIST 100 Index Closes Wednesday with a Decline
While the index declined as a result of widespread selling in the markets, the insurance sector was recorded as the only sector to post gains.
The BIST 100 index on Borsa Istanbul completed Wednesday with a 2.03 percent loss in value at 12,122.94 points, while the total transaction volume reached the level of 113.5 billion liras.

The BIST 100 index on Borsa Istanbul decreased by 251.32 points compared to the previous close, falling to 12,122.94 points, and the total transaction volume in the markets reached the level of 113.5 billion liras.
Sector Performance Distribution
While value losses of 0.16 percent were seen in the banking index and 1.46 percent in the holding index, the only gaining sector of the day was insurance, which recorded a 1.90 percent increase.
Among the sector indices, the area that lost the most value was recorded as the financial leasing and factoring sector with a drop of 6.80 percent.
Course of Global Markets
Tensions in the Middle East region driving oil prices upward, increases in bond yields, and concerns regarding France's public finances caused a negative trend on a global scale.
Investors' attention turned to global developments as well as the Federal Open Market Committee meeting minutes to be released in the evening hours.
Data to Be Monitored
Analysts stated that weekly money and bank statistics domestically will be monitored by investors on Thursday.
On the foreign agenda, Japan and Germany's foreign trade balances, as well as the US weekly jobless claims and wholesale inventories data, will be tracked.
Technical Support and Resistances
According to technical evaluations, the 12,000 and 11,900 point levels stand out as support points for the BIST 100 index.
In upward movements, the 12,300 and 12,400 point levels are monitored as resistance points.
