Borsa Istanbul Provided the Highest Return to Investors in the Week of September 4-11
As the week of September 4-11 was left behind in the markets, the BIST 100 index gained value, while foreign exchange rates rose and gold prices declined.
The BIST 100 index on Borsa Istanbul provided a 3.25 percent gain in the week of September 4-11, becoming the market instrument that offered the highest return to investors.
Weekly Trend of the BIST 100 Index
Stocks traded on Borsa Istanbul completed the week by bringing an average return of 3.25 percent to their investors during the week of September 4-11.
The BIST 100 index saw a low of 14,000.94 and a high of 14,673.07 points during the week, closing the week with a 3.25 percent increase at 14,467.25 points.
Changes in Foreign Exchange and Gold Markets
In the same period, US dollar/TRY gained 0.34 percent and euro/TRY gained 0.38 percent in value, with the US dollar rising to 48.46050 lira and the euro to 56.4710 lira.
A decrease was observed in gold prices on a weekly basis; gram gold lost 0.87 percent, Republic gold lost 1.03 percent, and quarter gold lost 0.83 percent in value.
Current Grand Bazaar Selling Prices
In the Grand Bazaar, the gram selling price of 24-carat bullion gold dropped to 6,830 liras.
The selling price of Republic gold fell to 44,490 liras, and the selling price of quarter gold fell to 11,190 liras.
Performance Distribution of Funds
Investment funds gained 0.87 percent and pension funds gained 1.54 percent in value on a weekly basis.
In the category of investment funds, the highest return was recorded in equity funds with a 2.74 percent increase.
Deposit and Loan Interest Rates
According to Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey data, the average 1-3 month TRY deposit interest rate fell to the 37.3 percent level in the week of September 4.
Contrary to this decline in deposit interests, personal loan interest rates rose to 49.8 percent, and commercial loan interest rates rose to 40.8 percent.
