Bottlenecks in Science, Technology, and Entrepreneurship Discussed in Hanoi

A comprehensive conference was organized in cooperation with the Hanoi Department of Science and Technology and the Hanoi Association of Small and Medium Enterprises to solve the problems experienced by technology companies and innovative startups.

Purpose and Scope of the Conference

A special conference was organized in partnership with the Hanoi Department of Science and Technology and the Hanoi Association of Small and Medium Enterprises to solve the bottlenecks faced by technology businesses and innovative startups.

This important gathering was implemented in line with the Hanoi City People's Committee Plan No. 342/KH-UBND dated August 30, 2026, and aimed to strengthen the local ecosystem.

Distribution and Status of Received Proposals

According to the Organizing Committee data, a total of 124 proposals were collected from associations, organizations, and businesses as of September 29, and these requests were meticulously classified.

While 57 of the proposals were addressed beforehand, 26 were submitted for the evaluation of city leaders, 34 were transferred to relevant departments, and 7 requests exceeding authority were forwarded to central government agencies.

Resolution Processes According to Thematic Groups

Incoming requests were gathered under five main headings: investment, production and commercial activities, innovation, digital economy, and other challenges, and some of them have been resolved.

Out of 23 proposals in the investment field, 9 were resolved; out of 22 proposals in production and commercial activities, 11 were resolved; and out of 33 proposals under the innovation heading, 14 were resolved.

Main Problems Expressed by Businesses

During the sessions held, business representatives shared their views on access to capital, market launch, startup support, digital transformation, and qualified human resources.

Furthermore, within the scope of the meeting, a visual dashboard ensuring the transparent tracking of processes was introduced by the Hanoi Department of Science and Technology.

State of the Technology Ecosystem in the City

Currently, 226 science and technology companies, over 1,000 innovative startups, and 10,996 digital technology companies operate actively in Hanoi.

It is estimated that the city's digital economy accounted for 16.7 percent of the gross domestic product in the first six months of 2026.

Future Period Plans and Reporting

Following the conference, the Department of Science and Technology announced that it will continue to monitor the requests from businesses without interruption and report the processes regularly.

It was stated that the progress status will be reported regularly every month to the City People's Committee and the works will be closely monitored.
