Capital Markets Board Imposes 948 Million Liras in Administrative Fines in 9 Months

In a statement by the Capital Markets Board, the penalties issued and the number of criminal complaints filed within the framework of market activities in the first nine months of this year were shared.

The Capital Markets Board (CMB) announced that a total of 948 million liras in administrative fines were imposed on real and legal persons during the first nine months of 2026, and criminal complaints were filed against 174 individuals.

Audit Activities and Notifications

The Capital Markets Board provided comprehensive information regarding claims that notifications and warnings made by Borsa Istanbul were ignored.

The Board stated that all notifications transmitted by the exchange and even informational notes sent via e-mail are evaluated with great diligence.

Administrative Fines and Sanctions

The financial dimension of the sanctions applied to real and legal persons found to have engaged in irregularities in the market as a result of the Board's surveillance and audit activities was disclosed.

Accordingly, it was stated that the CMB imposed a total of 2 billion 741 million liras in administrative fines in 2025, and 948 million liras during the first 9 months of 2026.

Criminal Complaints and Fund Transactions

The number of files transferred to judicial authorities regarding individuals whose unlawful actions were detected during market audits was shared with the public.

According to the statements made, while criminal complaints were filed against 152 people in 2025, this number has reached 174 people since the beginning of 2026.

It was particularly emphasized that 96 of the criminal complaints made within 2026 originated directly from fund-related transactions.
