Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey Governor Fatih Karahan delivered a presentation in New York as part of the 19th Turkey Investment Conference in the United States and announced that the disinflation process is ongoing.

CBRT Governor Fatih Karahan participated in the 19th Turkey Investment Conference organized in New York by the DEIK Turkey-US Business Council.
Inflation and Disinflation Process
Making a presentation titled Inflation and Macroeconomic Outlook within the scope of the conference, Karahan reported that the disinflation process continues resolutely despite challenging supply conditions.
Stating that monthly data may occasionally exhibit fluctuations, Karahan noted that changes in the underlying trend are taken as the basis in policy evaluations.
Developments in the Rent and Services Sector
Stating that services inflation continues to exhibit rigidity, Karahan conveyed that a noticeable improvement has been observed in the rent item.
It was emphasized that the deceleration trend in rent inflation and demand positively supports the disinflation process.
Economic Activity and Domestic Demand Slowdown
Expressing that growth has lost momentum along with the weakening in domestic demand, Karahan noted that high-frequency data point to the continuation of this slowdown in the third quarter.
