Central Bank Keeps Maximum Credit Card Interest Rates Unchanged
The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey did not make any changes to the credit card interest rates effective in September.
The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey announced that no changes have been made to the maximum credit card interest rates effective from September 1, 2026. With the announced decision, the current rates and tiered limit structure from August have been kept exactly as they are.
Interest Rates Unchanged
According to the statement made by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, the current rates from August are being maintained for the new period effective from September 1.
In the tiered structure determined according to the debt limit, different rates continue to be applied for cardholders whose period debt is below and above 30 thousand liras.
Tiered Limit Structure
For cards with a period debt below 30 thousand TL, the monthly maximum contractual interest rate remained at 3.25 percent, and the late payment interest rate remained at 3.55 percent.
A monthly contractual interest rate of 3.75 percent and a late payment interest rate of 4.05 percent will continue to be applied to cardholders whose debt amount is between 30 thousand TL and 180 thousand TL.
High-Limit Cards
Interest rates were kept constant for individual credit cards with a period debt exceeding 180 thousand TL and all corporate credit cards.
The contractual interest rate for cards in this group will continue to be applied at the level of 4.25 percent, and the late payment interest rate at 4.55 percent.
Cash Advance and Overdraft Accounts
No changes were made to the interest rates on cash withdrawal and overdraft account transactions, which closely concern credit card holders.
The maximum contractual interest rate for overdraft accounts and cash advance transactions continues to be valid at 4.25 percent in September.
