China calls for dialogue and negotiation between the US and Iran

Stating that it supports resolving issues between the US and Iran through political and diplomatic channels, China reported it hopes the parties will choose peace and return to dialogue and negotiations. Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun made evaluations regarding the US-Iran tension at a regular press conference held in Beijing.
Islamabad Agreement and Call for Peace
Reminding that China has called for an end to the conflicts since the beginning of the crisis and has made efforts to promote peace talks, Guo asked the parties to recommit to abiding by the Islamabad Agreement.
Working Together for Peace in the Middle East
Guo Jiakun noted that China is ready to work in line with the proposals and initiatives put forward by President Xi Jinping in order to re-establish peace and tranquility in the Middle East as soon as possible.
