Construction material exports exceed 33 billion dollars on an annual basis

The results of the July foreign trade index, prepared in partnership with the Construction Material Industrialists Association of Turkey and KPMG, have been announced. According to the statements, the sector's 12-month total construction material exports surpassed the 33.38 billion dollar level.

July Export Data

The July results of the foreign trade index, prepared in cooperation with Türkiye İMSAD and KPMG, were shared with the public. Accordingly, construction material industry exports, which stood at 3.17 billion dollars in June, recorded a 1-percent increase in July. With this increase, the monthly export volume materialized as 3.20 billion dollars.

Export Volume and Unit Prices

The export volume, recorded at 5.19 million tons in June, declined by 4.8 percent in July to fall to 4.94 million tons. The sector's average export unit price averaged 0.65 dollars per kilogram in July. This price, which was 0.61 dollars per kilogram the previous month, increased by 6.1 percent, rising again following the downward trend of the last two months.

Change in Import Figures

Construction material imports totaled 1.44 billion dollars in July. The import value, which was 1.48 billion dollars in June, thus declined by 2.6 percent. Similarly, the import volume, which stood at 462.2 thousand tons in June, decreased by 21.4 percent in July to drop to 363.5 thousand tons.

Import Unit Price and Seven-Month Outlook

The average import unit price of the construction material industry was recorded as an average of 3.96 dollars per kilogram in July. Looking at the total picture for the January-July period of the year, exports materialized at 19.51 billion dollars and imports at 8.84 billion dollars. The sector generated a foreign trade surplus of approximately 10.67 billion dollars in the seven-month period.

12-Month Foreign Trade Performance

In the 12-month period covering August 2025 to July 2026, total exports reached 33.38 billion dollars and 51.65 million tons. While the annual export value increased by 10.5 percent compared to the same period of last year, the increase on a volume basis stood at 2 percent.
