Cooperation Between Russia and China is Developing in All Areas

Russian President Vladimir Putin came together with Chinese President Xi Jinping within the scope of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Summit held in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan. During the open-to-the-press portion of the meeting, the two leaders evaluated bilateral relations.
Economy and Strategic Projects
Stating that their cooperation is developing successfully in all areas, including the economy, Vladimir Putin expressed that major projects are being implemented in energy, industry, space, transportation, and logistics. He also noted that a 34 percent increase was recorded in agricultural product trade.
Transportation and Digital Innovations
It was recalled that in mid-August, a Chinese container ship launched its first regular voyage via the Northern Sea Route. It was emphasized that digital innovations, such as artificial intelligence technologies, offer new opportunities for economic development.
Tourism and Visa-Free Travel
It was reported that tourist mobility between the two countries increased by 43 percent in the first half of the year thanks to the visa-free travel practice. Putin stated that, should the Chinese side deem it appropriate, they are ready to work toward making this practice permanent.
Geopolitical Relations and Partnership
It was stated that the comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation between the two countries set an example under challenging geopolitical conditions. It was noted that relations are based on deep-rooted traditions of friendship, respect for sovereignty, equality, and mutual benefit.
