According to data from the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency, in the week ending September 18, the sector's total credit volume decreased while total deposits followed an upward trend.
Credit Volume and Deposit Developments
In the banking sector, the total credit volume decreased by approximately 32 billion TL in the week of September 18 compared to the previous week, falling to 28 trillion 237.7 billion TL.
In the same reporting period, the sector's total deposits increased, reaching the level of 32 trillion 553.3 billion TL.
Retail and Commercial Credit Items
According to the data shared by the BRSA, individual credit cards declined to 3 trillion 440.3 billion TL.
The installment commercial loans item showed an increase, rising to 4 trillion 265 billion TL.
Securities and Other Items
Corporate credit cards were recorded at 1 trillion 101.4 billion TL, while non-performing loans stood at 876.5 billion TL.
Total securities rose to 8 trillion 45.6 billion TL, while non-cash loans and obligations were recorded at 11 trillion 443.9 billion TL.
Foreign Currency Position and Equity
The on-balance sheet foreign currency position stood at -2 trillion 669.2 billion TL, and the off-balance sheet foreign currency position was at 2 trillion 676.1 billion TL.
The foreign currency net general position declined to 6.85 billion TL, while the legal equity amount rose to 6 trillion 56.3 billion TL.
