Details and conditions of the Supplementary Family Support System have been announced
In the citizen's salary announced by President Erdoğan, the household income limit has been set as the lowest pension.
The details of the Income Supplementary Family Support System announced by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan have become clear. Households whose total household income is below the lowest pension of 23,552 TL will be included in the support scope.
What is the Income Supplementary Family Support System
Known in public as the citizen's salary, the Income Supplementary Family Support System is a new social assistance model aimed at completing the income level of families whose total household income remains below the designated lower limit to the targeted level.
Application Criteria and Income Limit
To benefit from the system, the total monthly income of all individuals living in a home must be below the lowest pension of 23,552 TL. Support payments will not be made to households whose total monthly income is above this limit, and retirees will also be able to benefit from the system.
Assistance Included in the Scope of Support
The Income Supplementary Family Support System will not be limited to a single payment; it will encompass items such as housing support covering electricity, natural gas, shelter, and fuel assistance, child assistance, rent support, subscription utility bill support, and food assistance.
Process for Determining Household Income
Field officers will not go door-to-door to identify low-income citizens; instead, data from the Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundations will be taken as a basis. SGK (Social Security Institution), the Revenue Administration, land registry records, and bank account movements will be examined digitally to determine the status.
Regional Priorities and Groups
The aid will be shaped according to provincial and regional conditions, and households with chronically ill individuals, the elderly, and those in need of care will be in the first priority group.
Total Budget and Number of Households
According to impact analysis studies conducted by the Ministry, it is projected that the number of needy households benefiting from the system across Turkey will reach 2.5 million and the total support amount to be transferred will reach the level of 1.5 trillion TL.
Implementation Schedule and Pilot Provinces
The system will be put into effect gradually, and following regional determinations, the designated pilot provinces will be announced by December 2026. The first support payments will begin in the first quarter of 2027, and the system will be expanded to all 81 provinces within 2027.
