Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar announced that the 2040 New Energy Architecture, created by revising the Turkey National Energy Plan, will be made public before COP31.

Electrification and the 2040 Vision

Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar announced that the Turkey National Energy Plan is being revised and will be presented under the name of the 2040 New Energy Architecture prior to COP31. It was emphasized that electrification occupies the core center of the new energy architecture.

Electric Vehicle Targets

Minister Bayraktar stated that the target is to have 8 to 10 million electric vehicles on the roads across Turkey by 2035. In line with this target, it was stated that the electrification process in transportation will be accelerated.

Renewable Energy and COP31

It was reported that more ambitious targets in the field of renewable energy will be announced to the world by the President at the COP31 summit. The plan aims to reflect Turkey's vision internationally.

Restructuring of Public Companies

It was noted that a comprehensive restructuring program has been prepared to transform key public companies such as Turkish Petroleum, BOTAŞ, TEİAŞ, EÜAŞ, and Eti Maden into national champions.

Nuclear Energy and Natural Gas Supply

It was conveyed that test processes are continuing resolutely for the commissioning of the first reactor of the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant. Additionally, it was stated that no issues are anticipated regarding natural gas supply security for the upcoming winter period.
