Digital era in maritime payments: Internet convenience for eighty percent of transactions
The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure announced that the requirement to visit a bank for payment processes in the maritime sector has been eliminated and the majority of transactions are completed online.
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that the era of going to the bank for maritime payments has come to an end and that approximately eighty percent of transactions are made online via credit card.
Digital Transformation Step in Maritime
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that an important process towards digitalization in maritime payment transactions has been implemented. Payment processes are being transformed into a completely digital structure through the works carried out by the Directorate General of Maritime Affairs.
Requirement to Visit the Bank is Being Eliminated
With the new regulation, the era of getting a C Code and going to the bank for maritime payment transactions is officially closed. Thus, citizens can manage their transactions without wasting time in physical queues.
Online Payment Convenience Provided
Citizens can track their maritime payments from a single point via the newly launched odemeler.uab.gov.tr address. All transactions that can be paid with a credit card can now be easily carried out over the internet.
Eighty Percent of Payments Are on the Internet
Drawing attention to the level reached by the digital payment facility, Minister Uraloğlu reported that as of today, approximately eighty percent of maritime payments can be made online via credit card.
