Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman shared the details of the discovery at the International Atomic Energy Agency General Conference in Vienna.

Minister bin Salman emphasized that the project in question ranks among the most significant rare earth mineral resources under development worldwide.

The discovery of the uranium-bearing ore coincided with a period when cooperation in the civil nuclear field between Riyadh and Washington gained momentum.

A partnership was established between the Saudi mining company Ma'aden and the US-based MP Materials regarding the processing of rare earth elements.
