Dollar exchange rate starts the week with an increase as September inflation figures are announced
Exchange rates and September inflation rates have become clear in the markets; according to TURKSTAT data, annual inflation declined to 29.73 percent.
While there was activity in the foreign exchange markets on the first trading day of the week, Dollar/TRY began trading at the 49.1630 level. The Turkish Statistical Institute announced September consumer inflation on an annual basis as 29.73 percent.

Starting the first trading day of the week with an increase, the dollar/TRY exceeded its Friday close and is finding buyers at the 49.1630 level. At the same minutes, Euro/TRY declined to 55.0140, while British Pound/TRY is trading at 64.9760.
September Inflation Data
According to data announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute, consumer prices increased by 1.84 percent monthly in September, while annual inflation declined to 29.73 percent. In ENAG data, September monthly inflation was 2.10 percent and annual inflation was 46.61 percent. According to Istanbul Chamber of Commerce data, September inflation in Istanbul was recorded as 2.11 percent monthly and 33.55 percent annually.
Fed Expectations and Global Markets
The fact that non-farm employment in the US remained below expectations and data was revised downward strengthened the expectation that the Fed will keep interest rates steady at its October meeting. In money market pricing, the probability that the Fed will keep interest rates on hold at its meeting this month exceeds 80 percent.
Brent Oil and Geopolitical Developments
In energy markets, the barrel price of December-term Brent oil continues its high course around 102 dollars. While developments around the Strait of Hormuz and geopolitical tensions bring supply security to the agenda, the dollar index increased by 0.5 percent to reach the 102.5 level, testing its highest level since April 2025.
