President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with his economic team in Beştepe to find a solution to the fund crisis, which started after the Capital Markets Board decided to liquidate 131 investment funds and affected 455,758 people.
The fund investigation on the agenda and the steps to be taken were comprehensively evaluated prior to the AK Party Extended Provincial Chairs Meeting.
Topics Addressed at the Meeting
At the summit, steps to be taken within the framework of capital market rules and the boundaries of the rule of law, as well as measures to be implemented for aggrieved citizens, were discussed in detail.
In addition, the course of the judicial and administrative investigations and practices to be implemented to prevent similar scenarios from recurring were addressed in all aspects.
Institutions and Names Attending the Summit
Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz and Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek took part in the critical meeting.
Furthermore, executives from the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency, the Capital Markets Board, the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund, and Borsa Istanbul attended the meeting.
Message of Confidence in the Financial System
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan refreshed confidence in Turkey's financial structure during the Cabinet Meeting, stating that the financial system is very strong.
He emphasized that the current problem is limited to a specific segment and that there is no risk spreading to the financial system as a whole.

It was stated that liquidation procedures in the closed funds are being carried out meticulously and that those who obtained unfair gains will be held accountable before the judiciary.
Emphasizing that the state will stand against those who reach out for the nation's assets, a warning was issued against those attempting to create an environment of panic.
