Koç Holding Deputy Chairman Ali Y. Koç and International Energy Agency President Dr. Fatih Birol evaluated the global energy transition, competitiveness, and the role of the business world ahead of COP31.
Cost Reduction
It is projected that energy costs will decrease by 400 billion dollars if the COP31 Presidency's target of meeting 35 percent of energy consumption from electricity by 2035 is achieved.
Investment and Grid Needs
Pointing out the importance of an environment that encourages green transition investments, Ali Y. Koç noted that grid and storage investments are needed for the uninterrupted production of renewable energy.
