European Union Ranks First in Automotive Industry Exports
During the January-September period, the sector, which exported to nearly 200 countries, autonomous regions, and free zones, accounted for 14.8 percent of total exports.
The Turkish automotive industry maintained its leadership in its main market by increasing its exports to European Union countries in the first nine months of the year.
January-September Export Figures
According to information compiled from the data of the Uludağ Automotive Industry Exporters' Association, the sector recorded a 3.1 percent increase in the first 9 months of the year compared to the same period of last year. During this period, a total of 31 billion 144 million 829 thousand dollars in exports was achieved.
Sales to European Union Countries
The Turkish automotive industry realized 22 billion 948 million 277 thousand dollars in exports to European Union countries during the January-September period. The sector's exports to EU countries showed an increase of 4.8 percent compared to the same period of last year.
Top Export Destinations
Germany, which is the main market of the automotive industry, was recorded as the country with the highest exports during this period as well. Germany was followed by countries such as France, the United Kingdom, Italy, and Spain respectively.
