Reserve Move in the Global Oil Market
The emergency intervention package implemented by the world's leading industrialized countries against supply concerns in global oil markets directly affected domestic fuel prices.
Supply Increase in Coordination with G7 and IEA
It was announced that 100 million barrels of diesel and oil supply will be provided from strategic reserves under the coordination of G7 leaders and the International Energy Agency.
Discount Date and Amount for Tuesday Night
With the acceleration of the decline in international product prices, a discount of 4.95 TL per liter of diesel is anticipated, valid as of Tuesday midnight.
Leaders' Summit and Strategic Decisions
In accordance with the decision taken at the leaders' summit hosted by France, the G7 Term President, a consensus was reached between US President Donald Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron.
It was decided that European countries would release 50 million barrels of diesel fuel and other IEA member countries would release 50 million barrels of crude oil stocks into the market.
Expected Current Prices in Metropolitan Cities
If the expected discount of 4.95 TL takes place, average diesel prices in metropolitan cities are expected to drop to 90.05 TL on the European Side of Istanbul, 89.95 TL on the Anatolian Side, 91.15 TL in Ankara, and 91.45 TL in Izmir.
Fuel Pricing Principles in Turkey
In Turkey, gasoline and diesel prices are calculated within the framework of free market rules based on daily CIF Mediterranean product prices and foreign exchange rate changes.
Special Consumption Tax (SCT), EPDK (Energy Market Regulatory Authority) share, VAT, and distributor and dealer profit margins are also added to these calculations.
