Within the scope of the fund investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya and her husband İlyas Kaya appeared before the prosecutor's office as suspects and gave separate statements.

The statements of the Kaya couple were taken within the scope of the fund investigation conducted by the Bureau for Investigation of Terrorism Financing and Money Laundering Crimes of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. İlyas Kaya stated that he purchased approximately 150 thousand lots of Özata Denizcilik shares in April 2026, sold a portion of the shares in August, and the rest in September. He stated that he evaluated a part of the money he obtained from the sale in funds through Halk Yatırım and Tera Yatırım.
Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya's Transactions
Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya stated that she purchased approximately 250 thousand lots of Özata Denizcilik shares in April 2026, sold a portion of the shares in August, and the rest in September. She explained that she evaluated the earnings obtained from the sale in the Tera fund for a short time.
Transfer of Earnings to the SDIF Account
İlyas Kaya stated that he felt a conscientious discomfort after the investigation was reflected in the public and that he sent the earnings he obtained from his investments to the account notified by the SDIF (TMSF). Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya also stated that she exited the fund and transferred the amount seen as earnings to the SDIF account.
Denial of Accusations and Allegations of Guidance
İlyas Kaya defended that his transactions were in compliance with the legislation, that he did not engage in manipulative actions, and that there was no guidance. Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya also stated that there was no guidance or special information in her investment decision and that she did not accept the accusations.
Examinations and Expected Developments
It was reported that the investigation authorities questioned the Kaya couple's statements and that the timing of the buying and selling transactions and money movements will be evaluated by comparing them with financial data. It was also stated that the Capital Markets Board is expected to file a criminal complaint against the couple.
