Within the scope of the fund investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya and her husband İlyas Kaya voluntarily transferred the non-principal portion of their investments to the voluntary return account of the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund.

A new step has been taken in the fund investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Bureau of Investigation for the Financing of Terrorism and Laundering Offenses.

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office approved the request of the Kaya couple to send the non-principal portion of their investments to the SDIF's voluntary return account.

Allegations and Transaction Details

Within the scope of the ongoing investigation, it was stated that the Kaya couple carried out stock purchases amounting to 63 million liras connected to Özata Denizcilik shares.

Allegations that these shares were sold for 1.3 billion liras shortly before the fund crisis began were included in the file.

İlyas Kaya's Transactions

It was recorded that İlyas Kaya purchased 150,000 shares at 55 liras per share in early 2026.

It was claimed that the shares in question were disposed of at 4,482 liras and that 826 million liras were withdrawn in return for an investment of approximately 99 million 687 thousand liras.

Total Profit Allegations

Allegations that the Kaya couple generated a total profit of approximately 2.2 billion liras from the fund transactions sparked wide public resonance and became a subject of debate.

Political Developments

Following the allegations raised against her, Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya announced to the public on September 26, 2026, that she had resigned from all her duties in the AK Party.
