First flight crew training completed for the T-625 GÖKBEY helicopter
Air Force personnel who will operate Turkey's indigenous general-purpose helicopter, the T-625 GÖKBEY, have completed their training. The helicopter, expected to enter the inventory in October 2026, is designed to operate in challenging weather conditions.
The first flight crew training for the T-625 GÖKBEY general-purpose helicopter, one of the unique projects of the Turkish defense industry, has been successfully concluded within the Air Force Command. The Ministry of National Defense announced that the personnel who will operate the domestically engineered helicopter have completed their adaptation process.
Training process successfully completed
The training conducted at TUSAŞ facilities covered the preparation process for personnel who will utilize the helicopter's operational capabilities at the highest level. The personnel underwent a rigorous adaptation process regarding the platform's technical specifications and flight dynamics.
Technical capacity of GÖKBEY
The T-625 GÖKBEY was developed to operate in challenging environmental conditions such as high altitude, high temperature, and both day and night. The helicopter's transmission, rotor, landing gear, and avionics systems were produced entirely with domestic resources.
The platform is designed to perform versatile missions such as transport, VIP, cargo, air ambulance, search and rescue, and offshore transport.
Inventory entry schedule
The general-purpose helicopter, developed with domestic and national resources, is planned to be included in the Air Force Command inventory as of October 2026.
A meaningful tribute
During the delivery ceremony held on October 29, 2024, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan named the helicopter after Zahide Güçlü Ekici, an engineer who was martyred in the terrorist attack on TUSAŞ.
