Foreign investors turn to buying stocks while selling bonds

According to the Central Bank's weekly data, foreign investors made hundreds of millions of dollars in stock purchases last week while showing a selling trend in bond assets.

According to the Weekly Securities Statistics data published by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, non-residents made $329 million in stock purchases last week while remaining on the net selling side in debt instruments.

Stock Purchases

Non-residents strengthened their positions in the stock market by making a total of $329 million in stock purchases during the relevant week.

Sales in Debt Instruments

During the same period, foreign investors made $86.6 million in sales of Government Domestic Debt Securities and $116.8 million in sales of Other Securities.

Stock Changes

The stock of equities held by non-residents rose from $43 billion 109.4 million to $43 billion 263.9 million in the week of August 28.

In the same period, the stock of Government Domestic Debt Securities increased from $17 billion 788.7 million to $17 billion 834.2 million, while the stock of Other Securities declined to $4 billion 498.6 million.
