This level recorded on Sunday corresponds to an increase of 1.7 cents over Friday's prices, while diesel prices saw a much faster rise.
Increasing by 3.5 cents over the weekend, the average price per liter of diesel rose to the level of 2.404 euros as of Sunday.
Change in the Last Two Weeks
Fuel prices have climbed rapidly, particularly over the past two-week period.
Examinations revealed that prices on August 30 were cheaper compared to Sunday's levels by 12 cents for E10 petrol and by approximately 20 cents for diesel.
Government Statement on Price Reductions
Following these record increases, the German government officially announced that no new fuel tax cuts are planned.
The cost to the budget of the previous fuel discount, which was implemented earlier and provided relief of 16.7 cents per liter, was approximately 1.6 billion euros.
