Insurance and Pension Steps in the 2027-2029 Medium-Term Program
With the new Medium-Term Program, new steps will be taken in the insurance and private pension sector in the fields of BES, OKS, compulsory disaster insurance, and SME receivable insurance.
Within the framework of the Medium-Term Program covering the 2027-2029 period, it was decided to increase domestic savings, renew BES and OKS, expand compulsory disaster insurance, and increase the effectiveness of SME receivable insurance in order to develop the insurance and private pension sector.
Medium-Term Program Targets
According to the new Medium-Term Program covering the 2027-2029 period, comprehensive regulations will be implemented in the field of insurance and private pensions.
Within the scope of the program, it is aimed to increase domestic savings and spread financial literacy.
BES and OKS Regulations
Standard investment funds in the Private Pension System (BES) will be redesigned to generate more added value for participants.
In the Automatic Enrollment System (OKS), it is aimed to increase fund diversity, simplify deductions, and enhance the appeal of the system.
Compulsory Disaster Insurance
In order to increase efficiency in public expenditures, a compulsory disaster insurance mechanism covering all disaster hazards will be developed.
In the new period, this structure will be transformed to cover all kinds of disasters ranging from forest fires to floods.
SME Receivable Insurance
The effectiveness of state-supported receivable insurance will be increased to reduce the collection risks arising from term sales for SMEs.
Evaluations by SEDDK Chairman Menteş
SEDDK Chairman Davut Menteş stated that the MTP sets important targets for the insurance and private pension sector.
Menteş emphasized that disaster risks will be brought under broader insurance protection and that a contribution will be made to SMEs' access to finance.
