International Cooperation Project Approved for Elderly in Vietnam
Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc has approved a new project to strengthen international connections in the fields of the silver economy and elderly care.
An international cooperation project for the 2026-2031 period, prepared to adapt to the aging population in Vietnam and develop the silver economy sector, has become official.
Main Objectives and Scope of the Project
Implemented with Decision No. 1702/QD-TTg signed by Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc, the project is designed to cover the 2026-2031 period.
The project encourages international networking activities aimed at increasing investment, technology, and innovation in the field of the silver economy.
International Cooperation and Pilot Models
Within the framework of the initiative, at least five international cooperation programs will be implemented in key areas such as health, long-term care, social security, and digital transformation.
These programs to be implemented are planned to be tested with pilot applications, evaluated, and then scaled up.
Health Insurance and Hospital Targets
The project aims to contribute to achieving the target of 100% health insurance coverage for the elderly population.
It is targeted that all central-level specialized hospitals and at least 70% of provincial-level general hospitals will access international cooperation programs.
