Kuveyt Türk Yatırım General Manager Dr. Selman Ortaköy made evaluations regarding the war in Iran and the latest situation in the markets, announcing that they expect interest rate cuts from the CBRT in October and December, and projecting inflation to realize at the 29 percent level.

Global Developments and Market Reflections

Kuveyt Türk Yatırım General Manager Dr. Selman Ortaköy stated that despite uncertainties regarding the war in Iran, market professionals think the parties are bluffing to gain advantages at the negotiating table.

Stating that a pause in the war is expected due to the approaching US election atmosphere and the $40 trillion debt burden, Ortaköy noted that this situation weakens expectations for new interest rate hikes.

Inflation and Monetary Policy Forecasts

Dr. Selman Ortaköy stated that their year-end CPI expectation is 29 percent, expressing their belief that inflation could close below 30 percent at the end of the year.

Expressing that August inflation did not make a strong contribution to disinflation but that they are hopeful about September, Ortaköy conveyed that room for 100 basis point cuts each could emerge in the last two Monetary Policy Committee meetings to be held in October and December.

Stock Market and Initial Public Offering Evaluations

Stating that their views on the BIST 100 index are positive, Ortaköy said that the stock market has weathered the turbulence and is seeking new momentum.

Expressing that a movement toward 15,250 points is possible if it holds at the 14,350 level, Ortaköy noted that their year-end index expectation is a close above 15,500 points.

Portfolio Recommendation for Citizens and Institution Data

He stated that they recommend fixed-income instruments such as 15-20 percent stocks, 5-10 percent precious metals, and 50-60 percent TRY deposits for investors with a lower risk appetite.

He emphasized that Kuveyt Türk Yatırım has increased its number of funded customers to 130 thousand and its daily trading volume to 3.5 billion TRY in 1.5 years.
