Major Price Hike Expected for Diesel Starting Tuesday
Following the gasoline price hike, a major price increase has also come to the agenda for the diesel group. The increase, projected to be reflected at the pump starting Tuesday, awaits vehicle owners.
While activity in fuel prices continues, claims on social media suggest that a 6.62 TL hike per liter of diesel is expected starting Tuesday.
Developments in Global Oil Markets
Fluctuations in oil prices continue to directly affect fuel prices. Brent crude halted its rise on Friday and closed at around $104 per barrel.
International Talks and Forecasts
Gulf Cooperation Council diplomats are scheduled to meet with Iranian officials on Monday to manage passage through the strait. Meanwhile, the U.S. Energy Information Administration raised its 2027 crude oil production forecast to 14.3 million barrels per day.
Current Status of Gasoline Prices
An increase of approximately 3.20 TL was made to the liter price of gasoline on September 12. Following this hike, gasoline reached 80.12 TL on the Asian side of Istanbul and 80.26 TL on the European side.
Expected Increase Amount for Diesel
In line with claims spreading on social media, a 6.62 TL hike per liter of diesel is projected starting Tuesday. If the increase is reflected at the pump, the liter price of diesel, which is 89.01 TL on the European side of Istanbul, will become approximately 95.63 TL.
