Major Solar Energy Investment in Bosnia and Herzegovina by Girişim Elektrik
An official contract worth 1.5 billion liras has been signed with EPBiH for Bosnia and Herzegovina's first large-scale solar power plant project.
Girişim Elektrik has signed a contract worth approximately 1.5 billion TL with the public electricity utility EPBiH as part of Bosnia and Herzegovina's first large-scale solar power plant investment.
Project Details and Installation Location
Consisting of two separate solar power plants named Gračanica 1 and 2, the project is planned to have a total installed capacity of 50 MW.
The power plants will be installed on the idle Gračanica coal mine site located within the borders of the Bugojno municipality in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Signing Ceremony and Officials
According to the EPBiH statement, high-level executives attended the official signing ceremony.
The contract was signed by EPBiH General Manager Sanel Buljubašić, Executive Director for Capital Investments Harun Gadžo, and Girişim Elektrik International Business Development Director Can Keleş.
Financing and Sustainability Goals
The financing process of the project will be secured through cooperation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and UniCredit Bank d.d. Mostar.
General Manager Sanel Buljubašić stated that carrying out the project on the former mining site has special significance in terms of a fair energy transition and sustainable development.
Contract Value and Equipment Supply
According to the information on the Public Disclosure Platform, the contract value was determined as 26,871,200 Euros excluding VAT, reaching approximately 1.5 billion TL at the current exchange rate.
Some of the critical components to be used in the project will be procured from Europower Enerji A.Ş. and Europower World A.Ş.
