The 26,765-square-meter new terminal building constructed at Malatya Airport has been completed and welcomed its first passengers. With this investment, the airport's annual passenger capacity has reached a significant increase of 2.5 million people.

First Passengers of the New Terminal

The new terminal building of Malatya Airport has been opened for service and welcomed its first passengers. Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that the new terminal building hosted the passengers of the flight arriving in Malatya from Istanbul.

Increase in Passenger and Aircraft Traffic

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu emphasized that passenger and aircraft traffic at Malatya Airport has increased over the years. It was noted that the annual number of passengers increased from the figures of 2003 to 849,957 in 2025, and aircraft traffic also rose significantly during the same period.

Technical Areas of the Modern Terminal

The new terminal building features a 1,786-square-meter check-in hall, a 1,417-square-meter domestic departures passenger lounge, and a 614-square-meter international departures passenger lounge. Additionally, domestic and international arrivals passenger lounges and a greeters hall are in service.

Number of Service Counters

A large number of counters are made available in the expanded and renovated terminal building for passengers to comfortably complete their procedures. A total of 18 check-in counters and a total of 12 passport counters, consisting of sets of four and two for departing and arriving passengers, provide service within the terminal.
