Memur-Sen Statement on MTP: Salaries Should Be Updated According to Inflation Target
Following the upward revision of inflation forecasts in the Medium-Term Program, Memur-Sen demanded that salary increases for public officials and retirees be updated and losses compensated.
Following the raising of inflation expectations in the Medium-Term Program (MTP), Memur-Sen stated in a declaration that the losses experienced by fixed-income earners should be resolved and wage imbalances between public employees and retirees should come to an end.
MTP Evaluation
An evaluation was made by Memur-Sen regarding the Medium-Term Program announced at the Presidential Complex.
It was stated that the program is far from the target of increasing the share that fixed-income earners receive from the national income.
Inflation Forecasts
It was emphasized that the 2026 inflation forecast was raised from 16 percent to 28.4 percent.
It was recalled that the expectation for 2027 was increased from 9 percent to the 21 percent level.
Demands for Raises and Compensation
It was stated that inflation losses resulting from the Arbitration Board Decision must be urgently compensated.
It was demanded that the increase rates projected for 2027 be updated and supported by a flat-rate raise.
Wage Imbalance
A call was made to eliminate wage imbalances among public employees.
It was stated that the gap widening between active service salaries and retirement pensions needs to be closed.
