Million-Lira Fines Imposed on Food Businesses by Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry
Within the scope of activities carried out to ensure a reliable food supply, heavy fines were imposed on businesses that failed to comply with the rules.
Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı announced that a total of 186.5 million liras in administrative fines were levied on facilities that violated the rules during more than 100,000 inspections conducted nationwide at food businesses last month.
Inspection Activities Exceeding One Hundred Thousand
Inspections carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry to ensure citizens have access to reliable food continue without interruption. It was announced that a total of 100,128 inspections were conducted at food businesses across the country over the past month.
Fines Imposed on Those Found Non-Compliant
As a result of the comprehensive inspections, a total of 186.5 million liras in fines was imposed on food businesses where situations contrary to regulations were detected. Officials emphasized that inspections against such violations endangering public health will continue resolutely.
Legal Actions and Criminal Complaints
In addition to the administrative sanctions applied, applications were also made to judicial authorities regarding certain businesses. Ministry officials reported that criminal complaints were filed against 49 businesses within the framework of serious non-compliances detected.
Fight Against Those Adulterating Food
Making statements on the matter via his social media account, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı stated that they will continue to protect the rights of honest tradespeople. Yumaklı expressed that the fight against those who adulterate citizens' food will continue.
