Minister Bayraktar's Statement on Gabar Oil Production and Development

Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar evaluated the Turkey's Century vision, energy independence goals, and oil production in the Gabar region, which has been cleared of terrorism, during a press conference in Çorum.

Turkey's Century Vision

Minister Alparslan Bayraktar stated that they are holding meetings across Turkey to convey the Turkey's Century vision, put forward by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, to the citizens.

Stating that they explain the goals of this vision and gather opinions from citizens at these meetings, Bayraktar said they discussed how the achievements of the past 24 years will evolve into the future.

Energy Independence Goal

He emphasized that while building the goal of a larger and stronger Turkey, they are focusing on the defense industry, a Turkey that is self-sufficient in food, and energy independence.

Minister Bayraktar particularly pointed out the importance of the Terror-Free Turkey goal in this process.

Oil Production in Gabar

Stating that Çorum is one of the most important provinces in Turkey's fight against terrorism, Bayraktar made statements regarding oil production in Gabar.

Reminding that the largest oil discovery in the history of the Republic of Turkey was made in September 2021, Bayraktar noted that seismic and drilling activities began after the region was cleared of terrorism.

Regional Development and Employment

Stating that 83,000 to 84,000 barrels of oil are currently produced daily in the region, Minister Bayraktar expressed that nearly 700 kilometers of roads were built and hundreds of wells were drilled in Şırnak.

He emphasized that as a result of these efforts, thousands of people gained employment opportunities and economic activities revived in the region.
